Directly down the channel leading our of Ransom Park in Aransas Pass, Ransom Island is the home to an abandoned resort. The walls of a few of the old cottages still stand. The channel side of the island to the north of it is excellent wade fishing for trout with a hard bottom grassy bottom and a quick drop off to the channel. The flats behind the island and the cuts leading to them are good for targeting redfish.
