A deeper hole in the flats north of Hog Island, the Hog Island Hole holds trout a good portion of the year. Redfish can be targeted along the grass edges of the flats around the hole. On the northeast edge, L Reef provides a buffet for the fish hanging out in Hog Island hole. The main cut to access Hog Island Hole come off of Morris and Cummings Cut, however some shallow running boats access it from the flats to the south and west.
Like many great shallow water fishing areas in the Coastal Bend and particularly Redfish Bay, access can be tricky and caution should be used navigating to Hog Island Hole.
