A large cut that separates Traylor Island to the north and Shellbank Island to the south, Big Bayou is a cut that leads from Aransas Bay into the upper portion of Redfish bay which contains California Hole and the lower portion of Estes Flats. As a main drain for tides in and out of the flats, trout and redfish can be found ambushing prey in the cut year round.
